Welcome to the 'Ventilated Double Facade' website

On this website you will find information and the results concerning the Ventilated Double Facade project.

This 2-year project was supported by the Belgian Federal Public Service Economy, SMEs, Self-employed and Energy and started on 1st October 2002. This project followed the first 2-year study (October 2000 - October 2002) realized by the BBRI, completes its results in different fields.

Its aim is to deliver accurate insight on the topic of VDF in general through an elaborated study of applications. The philosophy of the project was to approach this theme on a
very broad scale: "An integral approach".

This website is thus particularly focussed on:

  • concepts
  • classification
  • technological aspects
  • overview of standards that are applicable to these facades
Examples and the history of VDF are also discussed. Case studies are analyzed and focus on different aspects.
